Remarks Named after its habit of removing undesirable species of algae from dead corals covered with different species of algae to promote the growth of the desired species (Ref. 9710). 'fish' from Germanic 'fiskaz' from same source as Latin 'piscis' from Indo-European word 'piskos' (p. 229 in Ref. 11979).
