Remarks | This variant has only once been testified, in 1874. The h- can be explained as a contamination of to names for Prionace glauca: the common one ajkula and only once testified hajriba. It could also be a simple hypercorrection of Serbian ajkula which is borrowed from Russian àêóëà [akula]. The explanation of -j- with contamination with German Hai(fish) or Serbian hajriba (only once testified) is hypothetical. |
