Remarks 'Naseux', from 'nez', i.e., nose, from Latin 'nasus' (p. 492 in Ref. 9404); 'léopard', i.e., large strong cat of southern Asia and Africa that is usually tawny or buff with black spots arranged in broken rings or rosettes (p. 684 in Ref. 11978), alluding to the many large irregularly shaped spots on the sides of the this fish (Ref. 1998).
