Remarks Juveniles feed on phytoplankton (e.g., diatoms) and small zooplankton such as cladoceran, ostracods, larval polychaetes, etc. With growth, they gradually change their dietary habits, a process that is reflected in the relative shortening of the intestine (Ref. 30531).
