 Family:  Schilbeidae (Schilbid catfishes)
 Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  pelagic
 Distribution:  Asia: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Nepal.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Adults found in large rivers and connected waters. They inhabit surface to mid-waters. Occur in shoals (Ref. 4833). Oviparous, eggs are unguarded (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Near Threatened  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
