 Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Geophaginae
 Max. size:  4.4 cm SL (male/unsexed); 3.5 cm SL (female)
 Environment:  benthopelagic
 Distribution:  South America: Amazon River basin, in the Arapiuns River basin.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 15-15; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-7; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 6-7
 Biology:  Remains close to the substrate, above the leaf litter, in calm shallow water (Ref. 28729). Eggs are deposited on the ceiling of caves and are tendered by the female parent (Ref. 47893).
