 Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
 Max. size:  21.6 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic; depth range - 105 m
 Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Arabian Sea off Bombay, India and Sind, Pakistan.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 24-28; Vertebrae: 25-25. Drumming muscles present in males, absent in females. Last pleural rib on 10th vertebrae. Eye almost equally large in both young and adults.
 Biology:
