 Family:  Monacanthidae (Filefishes)
 Max. size:  7.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range 25 - 30 m
 Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Japan.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Inhabits bottoms with green seaweed (Ref. 9137). Secretive on deep coastal slopes, usually among soft corals (Ref. 48637). Feeds on algae and crabs (Ref. 9137). Capable of inflating its body like puffers (Ref. 9710, 48637).
