 Family:  Characidae (Characins), subfamily: Stevardiinae
 Max. size:  6.77 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic
 Distribution:  South America: known only from the type locality, Río Salado, Venezuela.
 Diagnosis:  Robust and deep body; a rhinosphenoid in front of the orbitosphenoid; absence of cartilage; a process on the post-ventral margin of the orbitosphenoid; a pointed process on the ischiac, and the first two pterygiophores in front of the anal fin inserted on the second vertebra of the spine (Ref. 49957).
 Biology:  Collected from a river with clear water (Ref. 49957).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
