 Family:  Callanthiidae (Splendid perches)
 Max. size:  25 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 50 - 200 m
 Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic: Namibia (Ref. 27121) and from Dassen Island (off western Cape Province) to Natal in South Africa.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-11; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 10-10
 Biology:  Occasionally caught by trawlers in 50 to 200 m (Ref. 11228).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
