 Family:  Pomacanthidae (Angelfishes)
 Max. size:  22 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range 5 - 35 m
 Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Indonesia.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 17-19; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 17-19. Description: Head and back light grey, ventrally black, forehead pattern maze of grey lines; fins dorsal and anal black, margin yellow, caudal fin yellow. Body depth 1.9-2.0 in SL. Scales longitudinal series 80-90 (Ref. 90102).
 Biology:  Adults found on current prone, semi-open reef flats with gorgonians and seawhips in depths of at least 35 m (Ref. 48636). Juveniles in sheltered coastal bays (10-15 m) with small coral outcrops on muddy substrates (Ref. 48636).
