 Family:  Clinidae (Clinids)
 Max. size:  5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic: Lüderitzbucht, Namibia to the Cape, South Africa.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 30-32; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 22-24. Around 7 brown irregular crossbars edged with iridescent blue; preserved specimens uniform buff (Ref. 5496).
 Biology:  Found in kelp beds at low tide. Attains over 10 cm.
