 Family:  Cyprinodontidae (Pupfishes), subfamily: Cyprinodontinae
 Max. size:  4.55 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic
 Distribution:  North America: known only from the Laguna Chichancanab in Mexico.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-11; Anal soft rays: 10-11. Differs from all of its congeners by having a distinctive flattened and concave inter- and postorbital skull roof and thickened lips, with a terminal mouth opening. Lips are protruding by a stronger development of the underlying cutis connective tissue in the lip region (Ref. 55026).
 Biology:  Carnivorous, feeding on snails (Pyrgophorus coronatus), ostracodes and bivalves (Ref. 55026).
