 Family:  Exocoetidae (Flyingfishes)
 Max. size:  26 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  pelagic-neritic; depth range 0 - 20 m, oceanodromous
 Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Hawaii, Johnston Islands, Tonga, Samoa, Rarotonga, Tahiti, Marquesas, and Easter Island. Southern "population" may belong to closely related undescribed species.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Inhabits neritic surface waters, most abundant off oceanic islands (Ref. 9839). Feeds on zooplanktons (Ref. 89972).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
