 Family:  Rajidae (Skates)
 Max. size:  23 cm WD (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range 410 - 549 m
 Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Gulf of Aden and Travancore coast in India. Questionably from near Zanzibar, Tanzania.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
