 Family:  Percidae (Perches), subfamily: Etheostomatinae
 Max. size:  6.4 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic
 Distribution:  North America: occurs only in Barren River system (except Gasper River) in southern central Kentucky and northern central Tennessee, USA.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Inhabits rocky pools and adjacent riffles of creeks and small rivers (Ref. 5723); also found in streams (Ref. 10294).
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
