 Max. size:  64 cm TL (male/unsexed); 75 cm TL (female)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Western Pacific: Japan (Ref. 247) and New Zealand (Ref. 13669).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  A little-known lanternshark, mainly from depths below 900 m. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
