 Family:  Psychrolutidae (Fatheads)
 Max. size:  39 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 14 - 400 m
 Distribution:  North Pacific: Japan to Bering Sea and to Kodiak Island, Alaska.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 19-23; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 15-18. Some laminate cirri present around lower jaw; no preopercular spines; branchiostegal membranes fused to isthmus with a narrow fold over isthmus (Ref. 559).
