 Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to Lake Malawi. Occurs in Thumbi West Island and the south east arm of Lake Malawi.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Inhabits moderately deep water over sandy and rocky substrates and feeds on fishes (Ref. 267).
