 Family:  Apogonidae (Cardinalfishes), subfamily: Apogoninae
 Max. size:  9 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range 1 - 37 m
 Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Red Sea south to Natal, South Africa and eastward to Samoa and MangarĂ©va, north to the Ryukyu Islands, south to northern Australia and Lord Howe Island.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 8-8
 Biology:  Occurs inshore in reef areas (Ref. 7300). Commonly found among weeds in tide pools (Ref. 4329). Nocturnal species (Ref. 7300). Minimum depth reported taken from Ref. 30874.
