 Family:  Bathydraconidae (Antarctic dragonfishes)
 Max. size:  24 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range 200 - 670 m
 Distribution:  Southern Ocean: Antarctic Peninsula, Elephant Island and Antarctic continental shelf.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Breeding stock in the Weddell Sea consisted of individuals larger than 20 cm SL. Adults feed mainly on pelagic crustaceans: Euphausia superba, Hyperiella antarctica, Euphausia crystallorophias and other amphipods (Ref. 5192). Larval pelagic phase is long (Ref. 41551).
