 Max. size:  14.3 cm SL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 44.2 g
 Environment:  benthopelagic
 Distribution:  South America: Rio Magdalena and Lago Maracaibo basin.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-11; Anal soft rays: 49-53. Fewer lateral line scales (58-59, versus 64-70 in G. maracaiboensis and 68-75 in G. atratoensis), fewer scale rows between lateral line and anal-fin origin (9-11, versus 12-14 in G. maracaiboensis and 13-16 in G. atratoensis) and fewer scale rows around caudal peduncle (19, versus 21-23 in G. maracaiboensis and 21-23 in G. atratoensis).
