 Family:  Nototheniidae (Cod icefishes)
 Max. size:  35 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 30 - 300 m
 Distribution:  Southern Ocean: French South Territory, Heard Islands and Kerguelen Plateau.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 28-30; Anal soft rays: 28-31. Body marbled and with three or four short, broad, dark bars on upper parts of sides. Dorsally rays sometimes with a series of small spots, caudal fin faintly barred (Ref. 11892).
 Biology:  Found in fairly shallow water (Ref. 11892).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
