 Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
 Max. size:  12.3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic; depth range - 9 m
 Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria and probably the Victoria Nile.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Inhabits various areas (exposed beaches, dense plant stands near rocky shores) with hard substrates of sand, rocks or shingle (Ref. 4983). Feeds mainly on insect larvae (Diptera, probably chironomids); also snails and ostracods (Ref. 558).
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
