 Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
 Max. size:  10.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic; depth range - 14 m
 Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Smaller specimens occur in sheltered, shallow waters with a mud bottom while larger specimens occur over a rocky bottom (Ref. 4983). Ingested material in the stomach consisted of fragments of fin rays, cycloid scales similar to those covering part of the caudal fin of cichlids; while those in the intestines consisted of numerous small scales and empty diatom frustules (Ref. 558).
