 Family:  Loricariidae (Armored catfishes), subfamily: Ancistrinae
 Max. size:  19.77 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  South America: Rupununi, Essequibo, and Takutu river drainages of Guyana, and from Río Casiquiare - Río Negro and the Río Cinaruco - Río Orinoco drainages of Venezuela.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 4-4. Small spots on the head with spots becoming very large on the caudal peduncle and caudal fin; body very elongated; odontodes on opercle absent, rarely with one or two odontodes in adults (Ref. 50590).
 Biology:  Found in medium to large rivers among boulders (Ref. 50590).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
