 Family:  Malacanthidae (Tilefishes), subfamily: Malacanthinae
 Max. size:  13 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range 15 - 50 m, non-migratory
 Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Andaman Islands, Indonesia and Solomon Is.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 22-22; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 20-20. Description: Characterized by bright yellow body color except white ventrally; blue stripe above eye; upper gill cover with conspicuous black spot; preopercular serrae 30.44; greatest depth of body 4.9-5.0 in SL (Ref. 90102).
 Biology:  Found near coastal reefs. Hovers above it's burrow in flat soft silty bottoms (Ref. 9710). Usually in pairs (Ref. 48635).
