 Max. size:  16 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Indian Ocean: restricted to the southeast coasts of India and Sri Lanka.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 27-30. Scales small. Head scales all cycloid. Total number of scales above and below the lateral line 19-23 (mean= 20).
 Biology:
