 Family:  Latidae (Lates perches)
 Max. size:  45 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Africa: endemic to Lake Tanganyika.
 Diagnosis:  Space between dorsal fins more or less equal to length of first dorsal fin.
 Biology:  Closely associated with sardines on which it depends (Ref. 4967).
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
