 Family:  Serranidae (Sea basses: groupers and fairy basslets), subfamily: Anthiinae
 Max. size:  28 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 50 - 400 m
 Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: southeastern Australia, including Victoria and Tasmania (Ref. 9563). Reported occurrence in New Zealand is erroneous (Ref. 57569).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Occurs on the continental shelf (Ref. 9563) near rocky reefs (Ref. 33839).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
