 Family:  Mugilidae (Mullets)
 Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Persian Gulf to western coast of India.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 4-4; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-9. Greenish grey dorsally, soon shading to silvery on sides and ventrally; golden iridescence often present dorsally on head; posterior edge of caudal fin narrowly blackish (Ref. 11441).
 Biology:  Oviparous, eggs are pelagic and non-adhesive (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
