 Family:  Melanotaeniidae (Rainbowfishes, blue eyes)
 Max. size:  8 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic; pH range: 6.5 - 7.5
 Distribution:  Asia: known only from tributaries of the Prafi River system near Manokwari, Irian Jaya, Indonesia.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 5-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-16; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 22-25
 Biology:  Occurs in streams flowing through rainforest and agricultural (mainly oil palm) lands on a flat, alluvial plain.
 IUCN Red List Status: Vulnerable (A2ce) (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
