 Family:  Melanotaeniidae (Rainbowfishes, blue eyes)
 Max. size:  16 cm SL (male/unsexed); 10 cm SL (female)
 Environment:  benthopelagic
 Distribution:  Asia: known thus far only from the Idenburg ( now Taritatu) and Doorman Rivers in Irian Jaya, Indonesia.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 5-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 18-28; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 21-26
 Biology: 
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
