 Environment:  bathypelagic; depth range - 1420 m
 Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 19-19; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 17-17; Vertebrae: 43-43. Lateral line marked with neuromasts or papillae. Scale pockets with 0-4 subcutaneous pores of 0.1-0.15 mm diameter. Cephalic lateral line canals branched. Lacrimal extending back to mideye. Head length 2.8 in SL; greatest body depth 4.9 in SL.
 Biology:  Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
