 Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Saya de Malha bank.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 15-15; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 5-5; Vertebrae: 28-28. Tubular scales in lateral line16-20. Spines on the lateral surface of the lacrimale absent. Spines on the lateral surface of the first suborbital bone absent. Second dorsal spine greatly elongated (Ref. 41496).
