 Family:  Plotosidae (Eeltail catfishes)
 Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 0 - 3 m
 Distribution:  Oceania: known only from Lake Kutubu in the Southern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 5-5; Anal soft rays: 95-95
 Biology:  Known only from the type locality; specimens captured in 1983 from shallow water with a soft, muddy bottom and abundant aquatic vegetation.
 IUCN Red List Status: Vulnerable (A2cd) (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
