 Family:  Syngnathidae (Pipefishes and seahorses), subfamily: Syngnathinae
 Max. size:  3.23 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  pelagic-neritic
 Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: Bahamas. Isla de Pro videncia in western Caribbean (Ref. 26938).
 Diagnosis:  Snout very short. Dorsal and pectoral fins only in very young (Ref. 26938).
 Biology:  Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
