 Family:  Percidae (Perches), subfamily: Etheostomatinae
 Max. size:  8.4 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic
 Distribution:  North America: Patuxent, Potomac, Rappahannock, York and James River drainages (all tributaries of Chesapeake Bay) in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia in the USA.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Inhabit pools, usually with rock bottoms and near riffles, of creeks and small to medium rivers (Ref. 5723). Eggs are found buried in the substrate (Ref. 7043).
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
