 Environment:  demersal; pH range: 6 - 8; dH range: 25, potamodromous
 Distribution:  South America: Amazon, Essequibo, Orinoco, and Paraná basins.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Occurs in schools. Feeds on benthic animals (Ref. 9084). Known from a temperatures ranging from 24-29 °C, pH range of 5-9, and an alkalinity range of 42-142 (Ref. 9110).
