 Family:  Belonidae (Needlefishes)
 Max. size:  32 cm OT (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  pelagic-neritic; depth range - 0 m
 Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic: known only from Ascension and St. Helena Islands.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Maximum length is body length. Found close to the surface in shallow water. Feeds mainly on small fishes. Oviparous (Ref. 205). Eggs may be found attached to objects in the water by tendrils on the egg's surface (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
