 Family:  Platytroctidae (Tubeshoulders)
 Max. size:  12 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathypelagic; depth range - 915 m
 Distribution:  Northeast Atlantic: single specimen found in the stomach of cod in Denmark Strait (record questionable). Elsewhere, Persian Gulf and Bay of Bengal.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Found in oxygen-poor waters at least in Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean.
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
