 Family:  Pomacentridae (Damselfishes), subfamily: Pomacentrinae
 Max. size:  8.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range 1 - 18 m, non-migratory
 Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: East Africa to the Tuamoto Islands, north to Taiwan, south to Lord Howe Island.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-14; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 12-14. Description: Variable from metallic green to light blue. A small and usually distinct greenish 'ear' spot. Tail yellowish, especially in young (Ref. 48636). Head with vermiculations blue. Body depth 2.4-2.6 in SL (Ref. 90102).
 Biology:  Adults inhabit sandy areas of lagoon reefs, around isolated patch reefs, coral heads, or rubble. Usually in groups (Ref. 4391, 48636). Commonly found around jetty structures (Ref. 48636). Feed on zooplankton and filamentous algae (Ref. 7247).
