 Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range 1992 - 2308 m
 Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Indonesia and off New Caledonia.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2. Snout broad, width across lateral angles about equal to orb.-preop. distance; length about 37% HL; protruding more than 2/3 orbit diameter beyond mouth; suborbital angular, distinct ridge formed; interorbital width 32% HL, upper jaw 30%, barbel 9%.
