 Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Asia: Cauvery drainage in Kerala and Thungabadhra drainage in Karnataka, India. Critically endangered in the Western Ghats (Ref. 44149).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Occurs in fast flowing rivers, canal and streams, hides in holes and rocks. Feeds on small fishes and crustaceans (Ref. 44149, 44151).
 IUCN Red List Status: Endangered (A2ce) (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
