 Family:  Arhynchobatidae (Skates)
 Max. size:  33 cm WD (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range - 130 m
 Distribution:  Southwest Atlantic: Espírito Santo, Brazil to Argentina.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  A coastal species found on sand, mud or gravel bottoms (Ref. 26375). Feeds on crustaceans, mollusks and fishes (Ref. 26375). Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Vulnerable (A4d) (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
