 Max. size:  46.5 cm SL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 2,300.0 g
 Environment:  benthopelagic
 Distribution:  South America: Magdalena River basin and Santiago River basin in Ecuador.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  An 80 cm TL fish was caught by angling from Rio Nare of the Magdalena basin (A. Linares, pers. comm., 11/02).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
