 Family:  Scorpaenidae (Scorpionfishes or rockfishes), subfamily: Scorpaeninae
 Max. size:  28.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 10 - 110 m
 Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic: Known only from St. Helena.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Encountered in shallow water ; found on rocks, amongst weed, and in crevices (Ref. 5288).
 IUCN Red List Status: Endangered (B2ab(iii)) (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
