 Family:  Sebastidae (Rockfishes, rockcods and thornyheads), subfamily: Sebastinae
 Max. size:  41 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 5 - 90 m
 Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: San Francisco in California, USA to central Baja California, Mexico.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Occur in rocky areas, usually in crevices (Ref. 2850). Territorial (Ref. 2850). Viviparous (Ref. 34817).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  venomous
