 Family:  Bagridae (Bagrid catfishes)
 Max. size:  34.5 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 300.0 g
 Environment:  demersal, non-migratory
 Distribution:  Asia: Nam Ma basin (Laos) and Viet Nam to southeastern Siberia (Ref. 43281). Recorded from Amur river basin (Ref. 13397).
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal soft rays: 19-20
 Biology:  Adults occur mainly in river channels and lakes. They feed on the bottom on insects (particularly on trichopterans and chironomids), mollusks, occasionally on fishes (Ref. 6868). Oviparous (Ref. 205). Eggs are guarded by the males (Ref. 45232). Important food fish (Ref. 89718).
