Definition of Term

Ecological footprinte
(english) A measure of the amount of resources (most commonly expressed in hectares of land) utilized by a given community to satisfy its needs. Or: the land and water area required to indefinitely support a defined human population and material standard. (See also: ecology, ecosystem)
